VEU mandatory documents

Energy consumers must be provided with a current copy of the following factsheet/s before agreeing to undertake an activity

Commercial and industrial solar activity

The VEU program provides upfront discounts for the installation of commercial and industrial solar photovoltaic systems that are between 30 kilowatts (kW) to 200 kW in size.

The FAQ document below provide answers to common questions about the Commercial and Industrial Solar Activity (Part 47), including:

  • eligible sites
  • system compliance and requirements
  • greenhouse gas abatement calculations
  • eligibility of different installations (extensions to existing systems and installing systems in stages)
  • interaction with Project-based Activities (PBAs)
  • activity implementation.

The FAQ document also provides example installation scenarios and whether they are eligible for discounts under the Part 47 Activity. These scenarios have been developed based on common installation queries received by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA).

Induction cooktop activity previous ‘Secretary’s product list’

The VEU program introduced the induction cooktop activity as a pilot between 24 October 2024 and 30 June 2026. During the ‘pilot’ period of this activity, products were required to be listed on the Secretary’s product list to be eligible for the activity.

The induction cooktop activity is now in the VEU program, without reference to a pilot period. The activity no longer requires products to be listed on the Secretary’s product list. However, for induction cooktop products to be eligible for an incentive, there remains VEU specific product requirements.

For further information on the VEU program product requirements for the activity, see the induction cooktops discounts webpage.
