First Peoples Renewable Energy Strategy
Victoria is taking another step towards a fair, inclusive and self-determined renewable energy transition with the launch of the First Peoples Renewable Energy Strategic Plan.
First Peoples have cared for Country for tens of thousands of years. As Victoria transforms its energy system, their knowledge, leadership and aspirations will play a critical role in shaping the state’s renewable energy future.
The First Peoples Renewable Energy Strategic Plan sets a clear pathway to strengthen First Peoples participation in renewable energy planning, decision-making and development. It outlines how Traditional Owners can shape renewable energy projects on Country and share in the opportunities being created through Victoria’s renewable energy transition.
First Peoples Renewable Energy Guide
The First Peoples Renewable Energy Guide has been developed to build understanding of the opportunities and benefits of Victoria’s renewable energy transition. It provides information for First Peoples across the state on renewable energy and how you and your community can take part in this change.
The guide also includes practical resources to help First Peoples better understand household energy use and outlines steps you can take to improve energy efficiency at home.
