Old electric motors use far more energy than new, energy-efficient electric motors. By replacing a motor, you can lower your power bills, reduce carbon emissions and save energy.
Eligibility
Victorian businesses can receive discounts for energy-efficient motor upgrades. Victoria’s largest energy users are not eligible unless they opt in to participate.
For further information, visit Victorian Energy Upgrades for businesses.

This cost depends on your:
- certificate price (which fluctuates)
- choice of product and/ or upgrade
- location
- installation costs
- accredited provider’s administrative costs.
Under the VEU program, high efficiency motors cannot be free. A minimum contribution of $200 (including GST) must be met by all businesses undertaking the upgrade.
For more information on certificate prices under the VEU program, please visit Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs).
Find an accredited provider in your area
Accredited providers often work with installers who are not listed on the registry.
Please note that as VEU is a market-based program:
- not all accredited providers listed above will necessarily be offering high efficiency motors at present
- accredited providers can choose when and where they undertake upgrades.
