Induction cooktop activity evaluation consultation

Consultation now open to hear from stakeholders on the induction cooktop pilot activity evaluation

Public consultation on the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) induction cooktop activity evaluation is now open.

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) introduced the induction cooktop activity (Part 46) into the VEU program as a ‘pilot’ activity from 25 October 2024 to 30 June 2026.

The purpose of the pilot activity is to test whether the activity design works for customers and stakeholders, and that the activity achieves genuine uptake and emissions abatement. DEECA is now evaluating the activity.

You are invited to provide feedback on the current activity design, technical requirements, and proposed changes to the activity. DEECA will consider this feedback as part of the evaluation process and use it to inform the future of the activity.

The consultation closes 11.59PM Friday 23 January 2026.

Commercial and industrial Heat pump water heater survey

Now open: industry feedback on commercial heat pump water heater progress

DEECA monitors and develops the commercial and industrial (C&I) heat pump water heater (HPWH) activity currently available under the VEU program.

You are invited to participate in an industry survey to provide feedback on opportunities for the C&I HPWH activity.

The survey is part of a review of the C&I HPWH activity to identify how the VEU program may be better able to support the electrification of commercial and apartment buildings and to ensure businesses are able to benefit from fit-for-purpose products when electrifying their on-site equipment.

The survey will be open until 11:59PM Sunday 28 December 2025.
